The Department of Health Care Policy and Financing runs the Medicaid and Child Health Plan Plus public health insurance programs and a variety of other programs for Colorado’s low-income, elderly and disabled persons. Medicaid offers family planning benefits and special services for pregnant women. The mission of the department is to improve access to cost-effective, quality health care services for Coloradans.
