The mission of CGOS is improving health care for women and children in Colorado by:
- Providing continuing education for health care professionals. Members meet monthly from September through June, primarily in Denver. Meetings are held in other locales in September and June, to bring the society to its membership. A nationally recognized speaker is brought to Colorado for a number of lectures for the purpose of continuing medical education. Residents and medical students are encouraged to attend.
- The COGS is a resource for patients, legislators, and journalists seeking health care information by being proactively involved with other state wide organizations and taking an interest in what happens legislatively. It is one of the most active of the ACOG affiliates.
